I’m not angry at the Stranger Things ending, I’m disappointed. And here’s why: the Duffer Brothers had the chance to deliver a season that could’ve been one of the biggest moments in TV history. Instead… it feels like they set the bar impossibly high and then barely cleared it.

The villains show it best. Seasons 1-3 were scary because you didn't fully understand the threat. Seasons 4-5 explain everything. Once horror turns into mythology, the fear fades. Stranger Things was strongest when it trusted the unknown and weaker the more it tried to explain it

As the budget exploded, so did the runtime and the lore. By Seasons 4–5, episodes were basically movies. Instead of tightening the story, the show kept adding—more explanations. The bigger it got, the more the cracks showed: pacing issues, timeline confusion, weakened urgency.
