Police in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, working with Farm Watch members under Operation Shanela II, seized 130 bags of dagga worth an estimated R11 million and arrested three suspects aged 34 to 35 for drug trafficking.

The suspects were arrested after officers intercepted a Toyota Quantum taxi and a Hyundai sedan on the R527 near Snake Park on Saturday night.

Preliminary investigations indicate the dagga originated in Eswatini and was being transported through Limpopo for distribution elsewhere in South Africa.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Hoedspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
