The IKBFU owns #Kaliningrad part of #Wallenrodt collection, which is about 350 books . It was started by Chancellor M. Wallenrodt in early XVII. The library experienced many twists and turns. After #WWII a significant part of it vanished to be found in homestead Uzkoye in 1980s.

The coldest winter has encouraged kaliningraders to rescue #birds. A drake dashed to a tourist by the seashore. An owl came to a store. A goldfinch crashed into the window to be named Cranberry. Amber plant workers pulled a swan from a quarry. People helped other swans & a storck

Crew of a boat saved a dog stuck in ice. The crew noticed the #dog trying to get out of waters of #Kaliningrad Sea Canal. It took them 15 minutes to get the exhausted animal on board. The four-legged guest warmed up at the port.

#KaliningradRegion will open the 9️⃣0️⃣0️⃣-year oak to visitors. Situated in the City of #Ladushkin, the tree saw the Battle of #Grunwald. Its trunk circumference is as large as 1️⃣3️⃣ metres.

Prussia was famous for amber artisans. They made diplomatic 🎁 for 🇷🇺 tsars. In 1649-1688, Prussian Embassy visited Moscow 5 times & brought ♟️, candlestick, chest. They haven't been preserved until now. In 1737, 🔥 destroyed 12k 🏘 in Moscow.

In #KaliningradRegion, there are five locks on #Masurian Canal.
#Lock 5 is the biggest one in Ozerki Settlement. It is 15.5 m high.
The lock is currently renovated for touristic purposes.

On April 28, sailing training ship #Kruzenshtern called at the port of Cape Town. The crew and cadets took part in the official ceremony dedicated to #Victory80.
