Milk is my favorite food. I'm allergic to jalapano's. Anti-diet RD in NW Iowa helping all people learn what all foods fit really means.

Trying to think positive about the baby turning 4 months and having a slight sleep regression this morning. Waking up at 5am and then again at 6:30? No problem - checks @USAGym scores.
@cjforiowa@KamalaHarris It would be interesting if she chooses (a fictional thought) @SenatorTester as her VP. Imagine every farmer being asked why they won't vote for a ticket with an active farmer on it.
Iowa has the worst child sex abuse laws in the country. Today they got even worse. Gov Reynolds & statehouse Republicans passed an abortion ban that forces Iowa children to carry a rapist’s baby if they don’t report the rape within 45 days. And now this:
@RobSandIA So the ruling, and law, both day "pregnant women". What about "pregnant GIRLS" or "pregnant CHILDREN"?
Everyone should have the right to bodily autonomy, but children particularly cannot consent.
Remember, Reggie Jackson played 1967-1987. He isn't talking about Jim Crow America. He's talking about POST Jim Crow America.
His time wasn't "another time." It's here & now. And MAGAs are criminalizing even talking about it. Only reason you'd do that is so you can repeat it.
The data is in: This fall, Minnesota schools served 4.3 million more breakfasts and 4.5 million more lunches.
That’s a lot more full kids – and money back in families’ pockets.
Not a bad way to celebrate School Breakfast Week.
@KF_Crow My OB has used the word "incapacitation" for the 6-8 week recovery period for after delivery, simply so my spouse knows how much he will need to step up to care for me. Let alone bonding and figuring out how to raise an infant for the first time.
4 weeks is definitely not enough
@Rushthewriter@BRSchuff Wouldn't it be a wonder if our state expanded Medicaid insurance coverage so low income families could have nutrition counseling appointments with a registered dietitian, if she thinks "childhood obesity" is the main concern then? Because currently there is basically zero.
@MythicalChef Fan and registered dietitian here - about 95% of people I meet with are not eating enough. Too many "diets" limit kcal, macros, and more. Metabolic adaptation, leading people to think they are a failure when they just weren't eating enough to support their body.
@MythicalChef Also, my spouse @A2913_29 is also a huge fan. When sleeping one night, my dream was once infiltrated by "Is Cereal a Soup?" Episode because he was listening to it after I had fallen asleep.
@LauraRBelin@IAGovernor Wow - I remember just 3 years ago when working for a state university we were told to be excited for a 0.5% raise one year. This was after 3 other years working there with no raise. Let alone a bonus?!
One month into my #PaternityLeave, as grateful as I am that Adira's birth was smooth & Serena has been recovering well; this leave has been vital for our family.
With Olympia, watching my wife fight for her life, I realized not having paid leave was unconscionable. Sure, all my employees had it, but the vast majority of Americans don't — and that includes new moms (1 in 4 women in the US return to work within 2 weeks of childbirth).
If you know me, you know I don't like just talking, I believe in action.
I started this fight when Olympia was born because I realized how lucky I was and we took the fight to Congress and did get 12 weeks of parental leave for all federal employees (and recently including military!) — we have much more to do.
More to come.

Went to cover this event tonight for a news story.
Left humiliated after a guy ran up and yelled at me (unprovoked), and called me a N***** twice. No one helped. Everyone stared at me, and laughed.
Do better people.
Clip from earlier in the debate when @YourlocalIDdoc asked bill manager Rep. Ann Meyer why this bill specifies using a type of ultrasound that's not typically used in pregnancy care
All of these are examples of what can happen if abortions are illegal based on the point of "life starts at conception, and we need to save and honor life".
People should have choice with how their body organs are used.
#ProChoice#RoeVsWade#IowaPolitics#DoctorsforFertility
Someone cannot use someone else's body, or body organs, without their ongoing and enthusiastic consent and permission even to save their life. The government cannot force a pregnant person's to use their uterus to save a life. Likewise, the government cannot force a person to....
URGENT UPDATE: We need Iowans to register against the GOP’s abortion ban bill! It’s the only official public record we’ll have to prove a huge majority of Iowans support reproductive freedom. Take action now at: https://t.co/2ESse1tZZR. #NoBansEverIA#ialegis
