The pronunciation of words is a subject in and of itself.
I say
'mee-en' vs 'mean' for 'mien'.
'kwhy-escent' vs 'kwee-escent' for 'quiescent'
Especially in my poetic works, I'll keep my intended pronunciations, as I feel not only do writers and artists have license.
