Americans, Trumps foreign policy makes no sense! It’s completely irrational.

SNYDER: You can't imagine Trump or Hegseth visiting Kyiv. It's not that it's not going to happen. It's just unimaginable.

It's psychically impossible for them. They can't be in a world where people are actually taking real risks for real things.

That would be too much for them. They can't be in a place where there is courage.

That would be opposed to just manipulating the rest of us with words, which is designed to make them look tough.

They'd never take any risk for anything themselves. They believe that all talk of patriotism, democracy is just for show.

These are people who fundamentally will just tell you what you want to hear in order to get what they want personally.

For them, whole idea of democracy, and even national sovereignty, is all just a joke, right? Just a means to an end.

When they're confronted by others for whom democracy or national sovereignty isn't a joke, who would fight for freedom.

Not just use words like "fight for freedom," but who would, like Ukraine, do it, when they're confronted and are doing it.

Have been doing it for 4 and a half years now, they don't have a way to respond besides scorn, spite, and dismissal.

That's the only thing they can do, because they're in a world where those are all words, and it's all just words.

When they're confronted with actual human beings, men and women who are actually taking risks, they're helpless.

They have to get that topic off the table. They're only comfortable in a world where everybody is venal and hypocritical.

Where everybody lies all the time. And so I think that's the fundamental thing: it's just really uncomfortable for them.

My dear friend Volodymyr Zelensky stood in Belgrade and said Ukraine has not changed its position and will not recognize Kosova. Within the hour, the loudest folk nationalists in Tirana and Pristina were already reaching for the geopolitical calculator: perhaps we should punish Ukraine, stop cheering for the free and mourning for the bombed. The most reckless among them threw stones at us for not giving up on Ukraine. Some even cheered for Russia!

What a shame to lose sight of the simple truth that freedom does not work on cashback.

Standing against a war of aggression and for a just peace is not a receipt you tear up when the victim of a barbaric aggression disappoints you. It is not a favour traded for a favour, but it is who you are and what you stand for in this messy world. And fortunately Albania is not a small man calculating who owes whom, but the Europe of the Balkans that shows the way through its faith in freedom, democracy and peace, and through the strength of its example.

Ukraine can be, and yes, it is wrong about Kosovo, but its right to be free remains unquestionable, and fighting for that right means fighting for Europe and for ourselves too. These truths can live perfectly well in the same sentence. Albania is grown enough to carry both and will carry both.

So yes: FREE UKRAINE. Today, tomorrow and always 🇦🇱🇽🇰🇺🇦

Last night Donald Trump released a declassified document that says his own intelligence community identified Putin as personally running an operation to defeat my father in 2020, built around a fake Burisma corruption scandal centered around me and executed through prominent Americans.

Trump tasked his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to fly to Kyiv and meet a known Russian agent.

The Americans who ran, laundered, and legitimized the operation:

Donald Trump. Rudy Giuliani. John Solomon. Joe DiGenova. Victoria Toensing. Lev Parnas. Igor Fruman. Chanel Rion. Sean Hannity. Steve Bannon. Miranda Devine. Ken Vogel. Ron Johnson. Chuck Grassley. James Comer. Jim Jordan.

To name a few.

An operation formally sanctioned by Trump's own Treasury Department on September 10, 2020, and expanded to include more named actors on January 11, 2021.

Oh, and don't forget the Russian-linked FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who later pleaded guilty to making the entire Burisma bribery story up.

The Russians like to talk about the “spirit of Anchorage.” As with any spirit, no one truly knows what it is. But the Russians believe in it, and they think everyone else should as well.

The reality makes one thing clear: if the “Spirit of Anchorage” even existed, it is certainly dead now.

For Russia, the lesson of Anchorage is that any peace plan developed without Ukraine is doomed to become a spirit and disappear.

Moscow should stop believing in spirits and instead respond to Ukraine’s serious proposals to sit down at the negotiating table and end the war.

The longer Putin refuses to accept the reality that he will never achieve any goals on the battlefield, the worse things will get for Russia.

Ukraine is not just hitting Russia. It is doing so with Ukrainian weapons.

Putin’s propaganda has always told the Russian people that they are fighting the entire “collective West”, not just Ukraine.

This was meant to hide Putin’s humiliation and explain why this war lasts longer than WWI. A war against a country he said did not exist and was meant to collapse years ago.

But now it is especially telling that all 100% of the long-range sanctions on Moscow and other Russian regions are applied with… Ukrainian-made weapons.

Russian propaganda will have a hard time fitting this into their lies.

Putin did not just miscalculate when he attacked Ukraine. He made a historic mistake. With every month of him refusing to accept it and end this war, things will only get worse for him and his regime.

At any moment of time, Putin has the way out. He just needs to order his occupation forces to cease fire and stop the war.
