The legal profession is facing a real crisis. Thousands of young lawyers are already without meaningful work, while nearly 500 more are enrolled every year. In five years, unless we act deliberately, the number of unemployed and underemployed lawyers will run into many thousands.
This moment demands purposeful leadership, practical solutions and the deliberate creation of new opportunities for our members.
We will confront this challenge. We will create realistic avenues for work, growth and prosperity.
We will - and yes, we can. Members First.
Yesterday, we were honoured to host Octane, champions of the Lawyers League, at our chambers as they came by to appreciate our support for the League.
I congratulated the team on a well-deserved victory and wished them even greater success in the coming season. More importantly, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to continue supporting the Lawyers League as a platform that brings our members together, strengthens camaraderie and promotes our profession.
Congratulations, Octane. The journey continues. @TLawyersLeague
