🇧🇷🇺🇸 It’s official: Lula’s Federal Police have now placed the United States under investigation.
The narrative is setting the stage so that, in the event of a @FlavioBolsonaro victory, the election can be annulled under the pretext of “foreign interference.”
And this is happening even without USAID money pouring into Brazil, without the CIA director and other senior U.S. officials coming to Brazil to pressure Brazilian authorities.
In other words, without anything resembling what already happened with the Biden Administration’s support for Lula in 2022.
🇦🇷3 of the biggest names in energy are betting on Argentina in the same week.
All showed up in Paris during Milei's Argentina Week.
🇮🇹 Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met President Milei to push Argentina LNG toward a final investment decision.
🇦🇪 XRG, ADNOC Group's international arm, said Argentina "has the ingredients to build a world-class LNG business."
🇫🇷 TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné announced nearly $ 10bn of new investment in the country.
Here's what's actually on the table.
Argentina LNG is a 12 mtpa project built on two floating LNG units, fed by Vaca Muerta shale gas.
YPF holds 36% of the supply blocks.
Eni and XRG hold 32% each.
The partners are targeting a final investment decision on 26 November.
The first phase costs about $ 29bn, and the full project about $ 51bn.
The US Export-Import Bank has proposed up to $ 6bn in financing.
TotalEnergies is not part of that consortium.
Its $ 10bn goes to its own Argentine gas and oil projects.
It is already Argentina's largest gas producer, with about a quarter of national output.
Why it's happening now?
📜 Milei's RIGI regime gives investors tax breaks and lets them send dividends home.
🌍 The Gulf war showed buyers what Hormuz exposure costs.
Argentine LNG would ship from the South Atlantic, far from Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb and Qatar's damaged trains.
🤝 XRG already partners with TotalEnergies at Ruwais LNG in the UAE and at Absheron in Azerbaijan.
Al Jaber and Pouyanné met in Paris the day after the Argentina announcements.
Argentina has always had the gas.
What it lacked was capital that trusted the rules.
That's starting to change...
The very same people who hope Lula da Silva wins re-election for a fourth time in Brazil today—simply because he is a leftist—are the ones who criticize Bukele for running for re-election, labeling him a dictator.

The only certainty I have is that Lula will no longer be President of Brazil next year,
says Presidential hopeful @FlavioBolsonaro in a V24 interview. 🇧🇷
We are literally voting our way out of this.
The playbook is clear. If you’re considering voting Dem this November for ANYONE to spite the GOP, stop and re-evaluate. This is how we win.
