QUEEN BEST KEMIGISA AKIIKI "OMUJWEERA NNYINA OMUKAMA" (59)
This is a woman whose life in royalty has been full of challenges and tears! The daughter of Prince Mujungu from Ntoroko, she was married to the late King of Tooro, Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III, in 1987 when she was only 20 years old. She quickly became a widow when he died on 26th August 1995, when she was only 28 years old!
She had given birth to three children, including Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale, the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, and the youngest, the late Celia Komukyeya.
In 1995, after her husband the King died, a new King was crowned during the Empango ceremony on 12th September 1995 and was proclaimed King of Tooro, her son Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, who was only 3 years old!He was placed under regents, or guardians, including his mother Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, Yoweri Museveni, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, and others.
Just 2 years after she became Queen Mother from being Queen, her youngest daughter Princess Celia Komukyeya died of Leukemia in 1997!
After 2 years, in March 1999, the Tooro Kingdom was shaken by the murder of the prominent Prince Charles Happy Kijjanangoma. He was shot in a bar in Fort Portal.Investigations found that the Kingdom's Prime Minister (Katikkiro) John Sanyu Katuramu was behind the murder and he was sentenced to death, but later his sentence was reduced to 20 years and he was released in September 2021!
The Kingdom faced challenges but remained firm and got supporters like the late Libyan leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi who renovated the Karuziika Palace and turned it into a real palace in 2001!
On 17th July 2010, when the King turned 18 years old, he was given full powers to lead the Kingdom and the guardians handed over power as it is today. Soon after he gained independence on his ancestors' throne, his major benefactor and his mother's close friend Col. Muammar Gaddafi was killed in October 2011!
In 2012, her eldest daughter Princess Ruth Komuntale brought home an American son-in-law, a white man Christopher Duke Thomas, which did not please some elders in the Kingdom and it is said her mother did not approve, but there was nothing she could do. The wedding took place, but later the marriage failed and they officially divorced.
In 2021, the Princess got another husband, Phil Anthony, and they were officially married.
(In January 2022, Christopher Thomas was found murdered in his house). And now she has lost her child, her son who is also her 'King', at only 34 years old!Queen Mother has been through a lot, including fraudsters like the late Bob Kasango, land wrangles as you remember with Prince John Businge, etc.
THIS IS A WOMAN WHO SAW HER HUSBAND DIE, HAS SEEN HER CHILD DIE, YET ALL OF THEM WERE KINGS OF TOORO...
And now she will live to see her GRANDCHILD crowned as KING before her eyes!
I really sympathize with the KINGDOM OF TOORO!
NYINAMWIRU’S CURSE: WHY TOORO’S CROWN HAS A HAUNTING HISTORY.
The tragedies of the modern Tooro Kingdom find their roots in the ancient tradition of the Kitara Empire.
The story begins with Princess Nyinamwiru, the beautiful daughter of King Bukuku, a ruler of the Batembuzi/Chwezi dynasty. King Bukuku received a dire prophecy from his royal seers that he would be overthrown and killed by his own grandson, born to Princess Nyinamwiru.
Terrified of losing his throne, Bukuku attempted to alter fate through extreme cruelty. He heavily guarded his daughter to prevent any man from approaching her. When her beauty continued to attract suitors, he ordered his servants to cut off her breasts, believing that if she could never nurse a child, she would never give birth, or any child she had would starve. He also gouged out one of her eyes to disfigure her further and hid her away in a dark, heavily guarded cave network.
In deep agony, humiliation, and despair over her father's brutality, Nyinamwiru placed a powerful, generational curse upon the lineage of the kingdom. She decreed that because of the blood spilled and the pain inflicted upon her body:
1. The rulers of the kingdom would die at a young age.
2. The crown would repeatedly be forced onto the heads of children, stripping them of their youth.
3. The kingdom's leadership would face continuous instability, succession battles, and periods of broken peace.
Despite Bukuku's attempts, fate could not be stopped. Nyinamwiru became pregnant by King Isaza (or a spirit commander) and secretly gave birth to a baby boy named Ndahura and because she could not breastfeed, she fed him using the calcium rich, milky fluid dripping from the stalactites known as her breasts inside her cave. Today, these caves near Fort Portal are known as Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru. Ndahura grew up disguised as a potter's son, and years later, encountered his grandfather, King Bukuku, and killed him exactly as predicted
For centuries, this ancient decree was whispered by elders as a myth. However, traditionalists believe the structural blueprint of Nyinamwiru’s curse manifested with haunting precision across the lifetimes of King Olimi Kaboyo II and his son, King Oyo. The core of the curse was that kings would die in their prime, leaving behind an unstable throne for infants to inherit.
The lingering echo of Nyinamwiru’s decree that peace would remain volatile and short lived became painfully evident in the sudden death of King Oyo.
In a striking, chilling twist of royal history that left the nation in shock is that King Olimi Kaboyo II died on August 26, 1995. His son, King Oyo, passed away on August 27, 2026 in real sense without life support machines he too died on August 26.
To cut it short, For modern historians, King Oyo's death from cancer at 34 and King Kaboyo's sudden heart attack at 49 are medical tragedies. But for the elders of Tooro, these events are perceived as the ultimate, tragic realization of Nyinamwiru's ancient curse, a continuous loop where kings are crowned as children, forced to rule before they can even walk, and taken away in the absolute prime of their youth, leaving the kingdom mourning a broken peace once again.
#UnpopularOpinion #791. Football lovers understand the importance of Video Assistant Referee(VAR). What you think is right/wrong with the intensity of the game, is different if subjected to scrutiny by VAR. Disagreements are settled & the game of football wins respect. So should be challenges of life in families, work places, politics, relationships especially marriage etc. When you see or hear any allegations against someone or partner, check your VAR before you make a wrong decision that may rue your life & that of others for ever.
@data5cientist@Mizzflav@ntvuganda Oooh wow...You are one serious chap. We risk being ranked as the first generation of mature adults who do not watch news.
Many young people I often work with find meetings boring or admit their joy is in execution rather than strategising. If this is something you subscribe to, I reckon your most important task is changing your mindset - good strategies ease execution and reduce failure. Prepare.
