Brave to hear how one professor of psychiatrys experience of being treated for psychotic symptoms in a biomedical versus humanistic way herself has led to her re-evaluating her treatment of patients. https://t.co/CJrQJttsIN
This is the Paul Cornoyer i especially like.
He was very good at painting architecture and this building painted in that green is joyful. Impressionism at its best.
Back later. Helen. 😊🐝🌲
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists doesn’t endorse gender affirming care as key intervention for transgender children.

#Referendum2023
I’m so deeply saddened that this has been the result. To all our beautiful First Nations people…my heart goes out to you tonight
I wish this had been different. Please know that there are millions of us who love and treasure and support you, that we hear your Voice and we will continue to walk with you
💔🙏🖤💛❤️
Before the #Voice Referendum provides the nation with a final chance to have our say tomorrow, we reiterate that WEL supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
WEL recognises and acknowledges the profound injustices experienced by Indigenous Australians 1/
If the Voice to parliament of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people is enshrined in the Constitution, obliging our politicians and bureaucrats to listen, chances are that money will be better spent.
Voting No? You may have this key assumption wrong https://t.co/RreSFc2vHi
We would probably be doing ok without the forced child removals; the massacres; dispossession of our lands; forced relocations; the legally sanctioned killings; the destruction of culture, the ongoing human rights abuses
But, yeah other than that-colonialism was tops..
On the serotonin theory: 'in order to change people's natural inclination to understand moods as a response to what happens to us, it was necessary to .. give the impression that the science was settled'. It wasn't, as we revealed https://t.co/cml1nF2Su0
Yesterday, over 70 law professors and teachers signed an open letter in support of the First Nations #VoiceToParliament.
Prof @Gabrielle_J_A of @unsw talks us through how to sift through the overwhelming amount of material in the Referendum debate. 👏

One of this country’s greatest humanitarians, “Australian Living Treasure” Prof Fiona Stanley, gives the FACTS on why #TheVoice WILL make a difference to First Nations people 🙌🙌🙌 #auspol
This is a very good point Many children see everything they do as being caused by ADHD They lose agency and believe that medication is important to regulate feelings
"[Ascribing mental disorder labels] may be particularly problematic during childhood when the self's still developing...minimizing children’s potential to separate socially constructed descriptions of their experiences from their core construction of self”

Speaking to my mum last night. She’s 83. This is her certificate of citizenship. She scrubbed floors and worked stations for no wage: just room and board. All for a better life for us kids
She walks around the Pilbara with her Yes shirt. Not one of her non Indigenous “friends” are voting yes. When they ask her why-she says this:
“Our entire lives all we have heard is “no”
Before I die; I want to hear Yes.
It means that much-and I cannot argue with that ❤️🖤💛
Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890)
Dutch Post Impressionist artist
These are his flower paintings .
His life was a turbulent one ending with his suicide.
Always loved his bold colours and finding this selection here made me happy

Despite the argument that psychiatric treatment helps prevent suicide in major mental illnesses, new research shows that suicide is the most common cause of death for those with "bipolar disorder" even after treatment
