Earlier today at @FairwayHotelKla, launch of World Tourism Day & Tourism month activities officiated by State Min.@mugarra alongside Sector Agencies,@PSF_Uganda @BebeCoolUG & media. #WTD2024 to be celebrated on 27th Sept 2024-Kasese District themed, 'Tourism and Peace'.

[Hon.Bahinduka Mugarra Martin @mugarra]

The tourism month has a myriad of events and today, we have officially launched the World Tourism Day activities which will climax with the 6th edition of the Explore Uganda series - #ExploreRwenzori.

Themed #TourismandPeace, this year’s #WTD2024 commemoration takes the much needed peace sermon to a region that has in the recent past grappled with a series of unsettling happenings that threatened its security.

Taking the celebrations to Kasese also reaffirms the restoration of security and speaks to the peace that’s prevailing in the region. I want to encourage everyone to join us for the celebrations and the other community engagements we intend to hold with the people of Kasese.

I thank all the stakeholders involved in the preparations and look forward to it all.
