Despite every post tagging them, @StarHealthIns has done it again. ₹2.3 lakh of physiotherapy for an 80-year-old bedridden for over a month — denied. Reason given? None. Are we seriously claiming a patient that long in bed didn’t need therapy to use her arms and legs again? Justify this publicly.
@irdaindia tagging once again so that atleast now it catches ur eye!!
@StarHealthIns — 4 years of premiums paid on a ₹10L policy. My 80-year-old mother is in MICU. Your admissible amount: ₹2.5L. The rest? Pushed to deductibles.
Either your panel doctors don’t understand how the treatment was managed, or Yashoda’s treating team does - pick one, because today I am being asked to pay hospital bills out of pocket while holding a valid policy.
Your social media team has responded. Your claims team has not. Zero contact despite public assurances.
@IRDAI_Ins @yashodamedicity — tagging you as this needs regulatory attention now
@StarHealthIns - for the record.
Running hospital bill: ₹15L. Your own assessment marked ₹2.5L as admissible. Amount actually released to the hospital: ₹1L.
So even by YOUR figure, less than half has reached the hospital. The medical summary your team asked for has been shared. Nothing has moved since.
I am not asking you to pay beyond my ₹10L sum insured. I am asking why a fraction of even your own admitted amount has been disbursed while my 80-year-old mother sits in MICU and I fund her treatment out of pocket — on a policy paid for 4 years.
@irdainsurance@irdaindia — the gap between ‘admissible’ and ‘disbursed’ is the entire issue. This needs eyes.
@StarHealthIns - Your representative Mohammad Usman, mobile number - +91 6360-260801 pulled me OUT of the ICU during our only 30-minute visiting window to demand clinical answers — what levels are high, what are low. We are attendants, not doctors. We can only relay what the treating physician tells us. Train your team to take medical details from the hospital/doctors, not from families watching a loved one fight for her life. Please confirm this is being addressed
@StarHealthIns@yashodamedicity — Deeply disappointed. My 80-year-old mother is in MICU battling, and instead of support we’ve been put through endless torture and harassment.
@yashodamedicity failed to share clear, complete medical justification for admissibility despite repeated requests. Nor arrest the cause and provide curing treatment @StarHealthIns rejected pre-auth citing “further evaluation required”
Family running pillar to post while two large institutions cannot provide effective services despite of being paid for.
The basic care and communication failure at the worst possible moment for any family.

We need both of you to act — urgently and humanely.
