Role Overview
The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Manager in running day to day finance operations and maintaining accurate records. This role combines core accounting support with light administrative coordination, ensuring invoices, payments, reconciliations, and statutory documents are managed correctly and on time, with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Accounting and Banking Support
• Invoicing and receivables: Prepare and issue client invoices, maintain an invoice tracker, and support follow ups with the Finance Manager.
• Cash book and expense tracking: Maintain an up-to-date Excel cash book for income and expenditure across the three entities.
• Payments support: Assist with processing approved payments and maintaining supporting documentation for each transaction.

• Bank liaison: Handle physical banking tasks such as resolving token issues, collecting bank statements, and addressing corporate card matters.

2) Compliance Documentation and File Management
• Digital filing: Maintain the Master Google Drive finance and statutory folders, ensuring documents are properly named, filed, and easy to retrieve.
• Statutory support: Collate and provide required documents to external tax consultants for
LIRS and FIRS filings.
• Renewals tracking: Maintain a tracker and support processing of renewals including vehicle papers, insurance, tenancy, and domain names.
• Document validity monitoring: Track expiry dates for MEMART, Tax Clearance, SCUML, and other statutory records, and escalate ahead of deadlines.
3) Office Administration Support
• Utilities tracking: Ensure internet, EKEDC, waste disposal, and other recurring office bills are tracked and paid on time, in line with approvals.
• Facilities coordination: Liaise with artisans (plumbers, AC technicians, electricians) for repairs and maintenance, including basic scheduling and follow up.
4) Administrative and Secretarial Support
• Correspondence drafting: Draft official letters (for example CSR communications and tax
replies) for MD review and sign off.
• Field errands: Support visits to banks, tax offices, and other service providers as required.
• General support: Handle additional finance or administrative tasks assigned by the Finance Manager or Lead Consultant.
Requirements:
Education
• HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role (Accountant, Accounts Officer, Admin Account Officer)
Skills and Competencies
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Solid Excel skills and comfort maintaining trackers and reconciliations
• Good organisation and document control habits (Google Drive filing discipline)
• Professional written communication for basic business correspondence
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
