I am pleased to announce that His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the merger of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change into a single Ministry, now known as the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change. I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me to lead this newly integrated Ministry and drive the realization of its mandate in service to the people of Kano State.
I am fully conscious that this is not an easy responsibility. Bringing together two vital sectors with distinct but interconnected mandates requires commitment, coordination, and hard work. However, my team and I are fully prepared for the task and remain committed to ensuring a seamless transition while strengthening service delivery across both sectors. We will continue to work diligently to improve environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and water resource management in line with the development vision of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Gov. AKY: A leader who works with calm resolve.
I warmly congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Gov. Abba K. Yusuf, on the successful conduct of the APC primaries across the state and the remarkable display of leadership, political maturity, and strategic coordination that characterized the entire process.
At a time when political contests often create unnecessary divisions and tensions, His Excellency demonstrated exemplary leadership by fostering unity among party stakeholders, strengthening internal cohesion, and ensuring that the collective interests of the party remained above individual ambitions. The peaceful and organized outcome of the primaries is a clear reflection of purposeful leadership, effective engagement, and the confidence the party leadership and members continue to repose in his vision and direction.
This achievement goes beyond the conclusion of a political exercise; it represents a major strategic milestone toward consolidating the party’s strength ahead of the forthcoming elections. It is yet another indication of a leader who works with calm resolve, builds consensus quietly, and delivers outcomes that are visibly tangible and politically significant. True leadership is not always loud; sometimes its greatest strength lies in discipline, patience, and the ability to unite people around a common purpose.
The successful primaries have further reinforced public confidence in the APC’s readiness to continue delivering impactful governance and sustainable development at all levels despite prevailing challenges. The unity, stability, and organizational capacity demonstrated throughout this process provide a strong foundation for greater political success and accelerated developmental progress for our people.
As we move forward, I urge all party members, supporters, and stakeholders to sustain this spirit of solidarity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in order to advance the shared vision of progress, prosperity, and inclusive development for Kano State and beyond.
Once again, congratulations Your Excellency for this outstanding demonstration of statesmanship and visionary leadership.

28.05.2026
Today marks three years of purposeful, visionary, and people-centered leadership under the stewardship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In just three years, His Excellency has not only fulfilled over 90% of the promises made to the good people of Kano during the campaign but has also exceeded expectations by laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth and development across every sector of our state. From education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, water resources, youth empowerment, women development, environment, transportation, commerce, and social welfare, the administration has consistently demonstrated its commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy.
Through strategic investments in human capital development, the revitalization of critical public infrastructure, the restoration of public confidence in governance, and the implementation of policies that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens, Kano State has witnessed remarkable progress. Thousands of young people have been empowered through skills acquisition and employment initiatives, schools and healthcare facilities have been renovated and equipped, roads have been constructed and rehabilitated, and interventions aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable communities have been expanded across the state.
What makes these achievements even more remarkable is that they were accomplished amidst prevailing economic and governance challenges. Yet, through prudent management of resources, unwavering dedication, and a clear vision for a greater Kano, His Excellency has remained focused on delivering results rather than rhetoric.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we acknowledge that the journey towards a more prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive Kano continues. The successes recorded over the past three years serve as a strong indication that the administration's development agenda is on course and that even greater achievements lie ahead.
On behalf of myself and countless beneficiaries of this transformational leadership, I congratulate His Excellency on three impactful years of service to the people. May Allah (SWT) continue to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and divine guidance as he advances the task of building a better Kano for present and future generations.
