@DeweyO@ChrisCuomo@IngrahamAngle@Lawrence "Post empirical evidence against our view and be deplatformed" "Get vaccinated or you will cast out of society" Are these signs of strength? No. Effective? Often
@lthomasnews While I agree with the sentiment, going back and taking a point after the fight is over might set a very dangerous precedent. Davis would have fought differently if the knockdown was counted - referees need to be better educated and get the easy calls right the first time.
Between this and the ending of Cejudo/Song, our industry needs strong leadership and to better educate referees on the rules. Fighters are potentially losing millions of dollars because of these issues. @arielhelwani@lthomasnews
@MMAJunkie This is absolutely incorrect. Taking a point has no bearing on the fight going to the cards or not. At any point you can not lose a fight due to injuries resulting from a foul that is called by the referee.
@JimMiller_155 Officials needs to be empowered to
#takethepoint
- it's the only sport where officials are asked to deem intent when a common foul occurs.
@arielhelwani is 100% right. Referees need to be empowered to take points on all fouls, especially ones that will effect the remainder of the fight, much less end it.
I believe, unequivocally, a point should have been taken from Song on Saturday night. That was an unintentional foul, but it was a foul nonetheless. The first warning needs to be in the locker room.
In the game of American football, no one's trying to go offsides. No one is trying to get a face mask. It's just all in the flow of the game. In basketball you're not trying to goaltend or travel, but there are repercussions.
@erikmagraken@JohnMcCarthyMMA A bigger question is why was a foul that directly led to the end of the fight not penalized. MMA needs a complete overhaul of the handling of fouls.
@aaronbronsteter There are some who already do, and ALL should. @abcboxing should push for this. @KansasBoxing has allowed some to attend virtually when they asked.
