@rowanfornow with modern computers and position tracking we could probably set up 'dynamic time-zones' but that'd be an enormous pain to implement, get people to understand and follow, and integrate with the rest of the world.
I've seen the Commedia dell'Arte image a couple times and for years i thought it was a fake show made up by the Onion or something. I still know nothing about it besides that it apparently exists.
@glencoewri37722 US Airmen in UN-mandate controlled Mauritania, Agadez, Darfur, and Kenya would be launching constant 24/7 aerial bombardment of Axis infrastructure in MENA.
@number_pizza111 lots of cows get literally eaten by flies because they can't swipe them away.
The most notorious pest is new world screwworm but lots of flies will take nibbles out of cattle which can lead to larger infections.
@The_Davos_Man It's sort of a regional dish but maybe get country fried steak (aka chicken fried steak). It's basically schnitzel but thicker meat and breading, something you'd get at a steakhouse or diner instead of a fine-dining place.
If that's not available chicken and waffles is awesome.
@Robotbeat Mars' low gravity means it would be cheaper to build extensive space infrastructure there. But you can't really develop that until there's an established, wealthy population and industry there.
You could build the solar system's biggest space elevator but who is that useful for?
@orbital_haze I think there's a camel through the eye of a needle where it's severe enough to force drastic tech reforms, like New Deal Industrialization, but yeah that's like an oasis in hell.
@orbital_haze ofc those would be terrible scenarios for 70 to 90% of the global population. Something like a heavily militarized space race could get us real colonies by 2050 but that'd benefit few outside of the defense industry.
@orbital_haze IMO the only way we get hyper-accelerated technological advancement anytime soon is where lots of what we rely on gets destroyed and we're forced to innovate to survive.
Maybe that could be severe climate change or Trump and co destroying the global order, but it's unlikely imo.
@rowanfornow you should very publicly say you're going on trip to Maine and just keep posting pictures of Portland, Oregon.
It would upset a very niche Mainer demographic.
