If you fictionalize a story so people empathize with you, and then the story is embellished, it cheapens the point of the story

Rather, when he exaggerates the truth here, and makes himself the main character of a story he’s not part of, he diminishes his own point. Those truths matter to me, maybe even more than the prom thing. The stakes seem less extreme.
