@PeterZeihan Even though you initially mentioned that these attacks on ships was not the government sponsored attacks that would cripple trade, it seems like it's having the same effect. Everything else like you predicted, higher insurance and shipping=> more deglobalization of supply chain

@lulumeservey Thank you for the analysis. As I recall, this compensation plan went through a board vote with Elon and Kimball recusing selves, and then got shareholder approval. And Tesla was in manufacturing hell. Could have gone bankrupt. Hindsight bias by judge? Is this legally sound?

Once knowing that curve fitting to quadratic or higher powered eqns, etc could be done with this eqn &express the 95% confidence interval etc, then maybe people will be more impressed. But since graphing softwares do that behind the scenes, it’s certainly under-appreciated.

Been seeing some comments saying these new Tesla wraps are overpriced. They're not. Here's why:

This isn't really a traditional vinyl color wrap; it looks to be a urethane-based colored paint protection film (PPF). This combines the aesthetics of colored vinyl and the protection and benefits of PPF. PPF is much thicker and self-heals when scratches occur. Tesla also states that for all Color Wraps, the installation will include the door jambs. This often requires taking the door off/apart, which is a very labor-intensive process.

Here's an example of what Tesla means by the door jams:

So when you open the doors the color will extend in.

Tesla's purchase price includes cost of materials and installation. This is a self-healing paint-film that can be waxed, polished, clay barred and ceramic coated just like traditional automotive paint.

PPF offers a better level of protection for the car and takes longer to install due to the use of water and soap needed to apply it. Color PPF is more rare and this PPF that Tesla is offering seems like a very high quality product.

When I got quotes for a clear satin PPF for a Model Y (entire car) a while ago the average prices were about $7k-$8k including installation, and that was without any color.

Tesla's pricing is very reasonable for what you're getting. Good quality PPF done right can last up to 10 years. In my opinion this is Tesla practicing and getting the hang of things before they eventually offer PPF/wraps for the Cybertruck.
