Just a reminder that there is overwhelming research showing homework does little to improve achievement and can actually have negative effects. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus!

This is a great time to remember self care. If you are stressed, exhausted, and fatigued then your immune system is not functioning at 💯 making you susceptible to all viruses. Taking care of yourself is more than washing your hands to a song

Teachers, it's not just admin that should leave notes of praise, you should be sharing them too. if you happen to walk by a class doing something interesting, or students tell you about it, send a note or leave one on their board.

People say the scariest words in education are, "Thats how we've always done it." Maybe thats true, but I think the saddest words are, "Remember when we used to..." Such as remember when we used to have naps & recesses in 1st grade or focused on learning more than testing. etc.

Met with a struggling student & mom yesterday & he said, “Can’t remember a time school was good for me but like one class here, Math.” I replied, “Nice. You always liked Math?” He laughed, “No always hated Math, just love how that teacher makes me feel when I’m there.” #LoveWorks

A kid fell asleep during a quiz. I encouraged him to wake up and work, but he refused. At the end of the day, he asked if he could finish the quiz tomorrow. At first, I thought ABSOLUTELY NOT, but then I remembered that second chances are more important than proving my point.
