With SPIN & SPEED, they SILENCE the People’s Voice.

Too many bad laws have been rushed through Parliament under the cover of “urgency”—and it’s nothing short of political corruption.

This backdoor tactic allows the Government to bypass proper scrutiny, evidence, debate, and public consultation. No legal justification required. No accountability. No voice for the people. It’s a disgrace.

Examples of bad laws rammed through under urgency:

🔺 COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020 – handed the Government tyrannical powers to lock us down, violate the Bill of Rights, and strip Kiwis of basic freedoms.

🔺 Conversion Practices Prohibition Legislation Act 2022 – a dangerous ideological law that could criminalise parents, pastors and counsellors for conversations about sexuality or gender. There were NO reported cases in NZ to justify it.

🔺 Fast-Track Approvals Bill (Dec 2024) – rushed through with barely any transparency or checks.

🔺 Social Security Amendment Bill (2025) – being jammed through this week with no proper scrutiny, affecting those who receive social welfare benefits.

And this week—a new Pay Equity Bill was bulldozed through Parliament by ACT’s Brooke van Velden:

➡️ First and second readings done yesterday.
➡️ Third reading and Final vote today.
➡️ ZERO chance for public input.

Luxon says it's not linked to the budget—hard to believe. All budget spending has to be locked down this week. ACT says we should be thanking them for saving money. The Finance Minister Nicola Willis, also fronted a media standup on this issue.

I’m not here to deep-dive into the pros and cons of this law. I believe in fair pay based on merit—not gender. And where real discrimination exists, it should absolutely be addressed and resolved.

And let’s be honest—$7 billion in settlement payouts under Labour does raise alarm bells for any taxpayer.

But now we’re seeing rushed political posturing all over again. SPIN & SPEED.

And now we’ve got Chris Hipkins suddenly questioning the use of urgency?

Give me a break. Labour were the worst offenders—ramming through some of the most damaging and ideological laws in recent history under urgency.

From the COVID Response Act to the Conversion Practices Ban, they perfected the art of shutting out public input.

Hipkins questioning urgency now is peak hypocrisy.

And Hipkins—who still can’t define what a woman is—suddenly wants to pretend he’s their champion? Spare me!

Whether this bill is right or wrong, the bigger issue is this: when laws are rammed through under urgency with no time for public input, it divides the country and silences open debate. We saw this exact pattern during COVID—and we’re seeing it again now.

Many Kiwi women are suddenly left feeling blindsided, ignored, disrespected, and silenced after yesterday's rushed bill.

Laws passed under urgency are undermining our entire democratic system. They shut out the people. They push through ideology. They foster distrust.

🔻We need an URGENT review of this process.
🔻We need proper limits and transparency.
🔻We need to embrace direct democracy. Give power back to the people!

With the tech we have today, why can’t Kiwis log in with their government issued RealMe IDs and have their say in a 24-hour referendum on major issues?

So much for ACT’s push for more referendums… or NZ First’s talk of binding citizen-led ones. Seems it’s only when it suits them politically.

I will continue to champion the Power of the People’s Voice.

It must be protected - at all costs.
And I truly believe Parliament belongs to the People. Not Pushy Politicians.

What I find so odd about Nicola Willis is she gets the problem, but refuses to cut spending to fix the structural deficit. I asked her at Fieldays why she didn't use Labour's 2019 "Wellbeing Budget" (adjusted for inflation and population growth) as the 2024 baseline as Labour could hardly call that "austerity". She literally laughed at the suggestion. Rather than fix "reckless spending" (i.e. post COVID explosion) Nicola Willis is locking it in. These attacks will not continue to be credible unless she starts walking the walk.

Once again, the news media in NZ has blatantly misled the public.

Last night they completely misrepresented Trump’s comments regarding “protecting women” – with both 6pm news bulletins trying desperately to link it to abortion, even though Trump never even broached the subject at the rally.

This morning the headlines all screamed about Trump’s comments that Liz Cheney should be fired upon with guns. Shocking comments.

So as with any coverage of Trump by the media, I went and found the actual clip to get the context. Have a watch (below)

Trump effectively said (paraphrased): “when the Wyoming Republican was in House Republican leadership, she always wanted to go to war with people. She’s a war hawk, let’s see how she likes war if you give her a rifle and she’s got 9 barrels shooting at her. They’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington saying let’s send 10,000 troops to fight the enemy.”

MEDIA: Trump says he wants to place Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad.
REALITY: Trump is talking about how DC politicians send our kids off to war from comfortable offices while never putting themselves in those war zones.
