Personally I think it’s great the new cast get to meld so easily into this world and story & I hope we do get to play around with them and their cool abilities soon! But it also gives me a whole lot more respect seeing how the ones I grew to love fought for the position they had.
I think there’s something to the discussion of some of the show/comic characters definitely sticking out a bit from the main cast in terms of the visual design and skill set. Sally’s original design for example leans a bit more into a sort of Disney Afternoon energy vs the—
First off...no shade here. It's just...I came into this fandom before even considering game mechanics in terms of the viability of a character. I usually take into account if I enjoy their stories and how they act in them first.
Maybe that's why I'm an Archie/SatAM fan 😂🤪
—benefit. Sally and Bunnie and the rest of the gang and their world and status had to be worked into the series as it was continuing to be defined without their presence. Especially in the wake of the Adventure era’s soft reboot of everything the series was before.
@SonicRush2112 Canon at this point has become vastly overrated in fan discourse. It’s honestly nicer when you can just ignore it and enjoy what you like no matter what decided “status” it holds. Never been a fan of media being seen as de-legitimized because of an often corporate distinction.
@TwanDaMegalodon@CaptainDaybreak@SonicRush2112 Look AT your responses. You ARE playing a victim in an argument you started. You came out the gate telling them to “Stfu and just say you hate them” before they’d even responded. Continuously added more and more to that, and didn’t even try to engage in reasonable conversation.
@TwanDaMegalodon@CaptainDaybreak@SonicRush2112 Their point was “These characters were created by the SEGA of America marketing to advertise Sonic on the standalone cartoons. They tried to work them in but unfortunately it was too late. The current comics’ cast are created from jump to work directly in line with the games.”
@TwanDaMegalodon@CaptainDaybreak@SonicRush2112 -Daybreak clearly doesn’t hate them either. Else they wouldn’t put this much energy into analyzing something “worthless.” Think about the intent behind someone’s statements before you begin treating another human being like they called you slurs for sharing a thought on Sonic.
@TwanDaMegalodon@CaptainDaybreak@SonicRush2112 -It’s entirely about the way these characters’ creations interacted with the series at the time. The writers of the current comics don’t hate the FF or Sally, Ian himself has talked about wanting to work external elements and characters back into canon material.—
