Burkina Faso has suspended beauty pageants across the country and introduced HAKILI Mousso, a science competition meant to highlight female talent.
The contest brought together 84 young women in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, with the top performers receiving prizes and scholarships.
President Ibrahim Traoré encouraged the winners to pursue careers in science.
Authorities halted the pageants in June, saying the move was needed to protect cultural identity, social values, and human dignity.
@Just_Itu06@lindz_malindz I second that! Same thing happened to me way back when and I used that year to start working and networking which ironically got me where I am doing what I love professionally. Kuzolunga if you manifest your goals
You are strong enough for whatever happens next.
Every day is a new beginning, treat it that way. Break away from what might have & move.
Look fear & hurt in the face & say "move aside, you're in the way."
Be brave with your life!
