I’m excited to share our recent work: 💉𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐞𝟐𝐕: Image Immunization Against Dual-Stream Image-to-Video Generation is now available!

As image-to-video (I2V) models become increasingly powerful, they also introduce a new risk: any image online can be animated into a realistic video without consent. While prior work has explored protecting images from image editing, extending this to video is much harder.

Our proposed Immune2V makes the protection persist throughout I2V generation: the image still looks unchanged, but the resulting video becomes unstable and distorted. This work takes a step toward proactive protection in the era of generative video, where safeguarding visual content may be just as important as generating it.

I’m excited to share that Narrative-Driven Paper-to-Slide Generation via ArcDeck is now available!

With ArcDeck, you can turn any paper into a presentation with a clear and compelling narrative. By combining the paper’s narrative, figures, and tables with engaging visual layouts, ArcDeck generates appealing slide decks tailored to the chosen presentation duration and target audience.

You can access the project on our GitHub and generate slides for your own papers using your API key or by hosting your own local LLM server. We also provide a Claude Skills version, where you can easily integrate ArcDeck into Claude Code and automatically generate slides from papers with a single terminal command.

ArcDeck achieves strong slide generation by framing the outline generation task around the paper’s narrative structure rather than treating it as a simple summarization task. By combining a narrative-driven outline generation with a visually compelling slide generation stage, ArcDeck produces polished and engaging slide decks.

🎥 Introducing Split-then-Merge: A new video composition framework!

This approach enables the composition of any foreground video with any background video.

Unlike conventional methods that rely on annotated datasets or handcrafted rules, Split-then-Merge (StM) splits a large unlabeled corpus of videos into dynamic foreground and background layers, then merges them to learn how dynamic subjects interact with diverse scenes.

Work done in collaboration with team members at @Google: Du Tran (@dutran) , Yujia Chen (@IssacCyj) , Prof. Ming-Hsuan Yang (@MingHsuanYang), Vincent Chu: and my advisor at UIUC (@siebelschool): Prof. James M. Rehg (@RehgJim).
