As a resident of GA, I am so thankful that 1/5 is finally here. We have been inundated with political ads from all sides for 2 additional months and it was exhausting. Voting: done!
3104 Georgians have died and I and my family are amongst the 106k who have tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, I have been sued by @GovKemp for a mask mandate. A better use of tax payer money would be to expand testing and contact tracing. #ATLStrong
It rings hollow that passengers are your biggest concern @AmericanAir when flights are almost completely full, there is no social distancing, and even your gate agents wear masks on their chins.
This is exactly the point. We are in this together so we all need to do our part. Please wear you mask, but over your nose and mouth instead of your chin.
What lifts you? This morning on my run, I ran by the #WhatLiftsYou mural & was inspired. I recently wrote a curriculum on the art of self-promotion. The key take away is: We rise by lifting others. Advocate for others. Be more than a mentor, be a sponsor. #WomenInMedicine
Treating med students and residents with humanity would be more effective than forcing them to major in humanities. The problem is not with the students.
Until you’ve held the limp hand of a 20 year old athlete shot in the neck, now paralyzed, with tears streaming down his face, don’t tell me there’s nothing we can do about gun violence.
You know what I wish would go away? The idea that doctors make medical decisions for money. I sell a couch for money. I start a treatment or operate on you because it will improve your quality of life. Full stop.
Hate is not a mental illness.
White supremacy is not a mental illness.
Toxic masculinity is not a mental illness.
Stop blaming mental illness for ideology and rage.
At the end of life, what really
matters is not what we bought
but what we built; not what we
got but what we shared; not our
competence but our character;
and not our success, but our
significance. Live a life that
matters. Live a life of love.
If your heart aches today for Notre-Dame de Paris, you are not alone. She holds centuries of iconic architecture, art, culture, & faith. She survived two World Wars and today, though broken, she survives a devastating fire. Notre-Dame, like women everywhere, will persevere.
