@InfectionPrvntn@DrJBhattacharya The GBD was signed by many reputable scientists. They risked their careers to present an alternative perspective informed by their experience. Science is about debate. When you silence your critics, that’s anti-science.
Dr. @DrJBhattacharya took the time to mentor and support me when so many others would not. It’s easy to be outspoken when everyone agrees with you. It’s not easy to speak under threat of censorship and cancellation. Congratulations Jay! You deserve this. You have my support.
I am honored and humbled by President @realDonaldTrump's nomination of me to be the next @NIH director. We will reform American scientific institutions so that they are worthy of trust again and will deploy the fruits of excellent science to make America healthy again!
@InfectionPrvntn@DrJBhattacharya Yes it does. It’s been suppressed. “Reputable” journals routinely turned down studies about COVID from those who support contrarian views on pandemic policy. And when those papers were published as white papers, the research was called not rigorous. Nice trap.
The piece you cite is propaganda trash promulgated by those on the left side of the aisle who censored critics. This is a lot more complicated to explain than a single tweet but I strongly encourage to read his tweets directly. Most articles lie about him. Or they don’t agree that you should question policy. Most people stop at the articles written for them to reinforce their own assumptions and biases.
I picked up this wonderful senior dog this weekend and helped move him to a foster home. He’s 12 and has a wonderful life ahead of him. This is my 17th year rescuing dogs and it never gets old.
@DrJBhattacharya@realDonaldTrump@NIH What a timeline we are living in. I am so happy for you @DrJBhattacharya but I am mostly happy for all of us who will benefit from your leadership and character. What a huge day!
@DrJBhattacharya@washingtonpost@NIH You would be an amazing choice and a beacon of light for all of us. Whatever happens, your leadership has made a huge difference already. Thank you.
@PWGTennant Leave if you must. Diversity of intellectual opinion is essential for a liberal society. Echo chambers mean any good you can do is limited to those bubbles.
@SueannaSmith3 You’re a professor right? So am I. And I went to fancy schools. Same ones as Hillary Clinton. There are many educated people who saw through Harris and disliked her policies. Voting for someone who no one voted for in a primary maybe wasn’t a good idea?
Holding a special place in my heart for my Israeli and Jewish colleagues and friends today. I pray for your continued healing, the return of the hostages, and an end to war. #BringThemHome
@McCormickProf Choose more challenging topics. And invite representatives of the opposing viewpoints into the classroom. Real people with different perspectives. Not just articles that can’t talk back.
News: I have been named Concentration Leader for Health Services, Management, and Policy @TuftsPH and also the faculty lead for the PA/MPH dual degree. I am working my tail off to make our MPH what our students need to achieve their goals. Best students in the business!
My beautiful daughter is turning 6 tomorrow. Her grandparents and aunt (my sister) haven’t spoken to me or her since July 2022. If anyone who follows me is an estranged adult child, I SEE YOU. Do not be ashamed. Ever.
Did you know you can buy kits on Amazon to set up the Mentos soda experiment if you are too lazy to do it yourself? You’re welcome! #stem#giftidea https://t.co/vD21iX6xhR
My students made a point of telling me today that my class is a favorite and they look forward to it. My professor heart is full. @TuftsPH students are the BEST. ❤️❤️❤️ #AcademicChatter
