My walk into work this morning through Hampton Court’s stunning #wildflower meadow - full of lovely bees and butterflies. This was once kept as lawn, but I think this is a wonderful change - and good for our bees too! 🌱🌸

The fact that some are managing to feel outrage about this simple good idea, visible from nowhere near the building itself, is a symptom of the desperate culture war developing over climate measures. We must avoid ecological action becoming Brexit II.

@DeborahJHoward So very true - I wasn’t quite prepared for how much of a solitary process it is. I lived in a tiny little cottage called the Mouse Hole surrounded by fields of sheep. It was lovely in its way - to be able to just focus on research and writing - but very isolating too.
Lovely evening @QueensCam hearing from curator Matthew Hirst about @Woburn_Abbey and the absolutely IMMENSE conservation & repair programme presently underway to the house and collections. The work of lifetimes achieved in a few years. Can’t wait to see it when it’s finished.
@SeaSpitfires@lawrence_shaw @ckolonko Very unique - I’ve not seen any like this before. I think they are likely agricultural as they seem to be quite low in height - are they just tall enough for a person to stand in?
