While it may feel nice to hold on to something sometimes, you need to try or at least ask God to help you forgive. Maybe the mere sight of someone that wronged you instigates hate in your heart or maybe it infiltrates you that they never apologized to you; you want the satisfaction of someone coming to you and saying, ‘listen, I was wrong. I'm sorry.’ But they pass by you every single day as if nothing happened. And you hold it inside your heart. But the scripture says he came to heal the broken hearted.
Now this applies to so many people in Church because through my experiences and from talking to various people, I have come to understand that there are some people who have been hurting in various shapes and forms and when they come to church/fellowship, the very people they find there are the ones who hurt them. This is so because we assume that we (in the Church) are supposed to be perfect not knowing that this is the place for the sick.
So you come and get hurt and your heart grows cold and closed. In this state, it's very difficult to be ministered to. There is a category of people who choose to only attend online via the various social media links. These have made up in their minds not to show up physically but partake electronically in the safe space of their home. But as long as the heart holds on to something, there is a dimension of the Word you are not receiving because you're holding onto something.
I do appreciate that in some instances it’s hard to forgive. When Jesus was asked by His disciples how many times they should forgive, he told them 70 times 7 times. By the time He's saying that, He's well aware that when you're forgiven the first time, it's not complete. You might need to continue forgiving just so it is a constant state of consciousness. You have to say, ‘I forgive you. I forgive you… I forgive you until finally, it's released.

My point is that whatever people say about you in this present time, what looks like may last forever is just waiting for a moment of time. And when that moment of time comes, God will be vindicated.
Then there are also things you can do purposely to change your situation, and it begins with you always being conscious of your environment and the things happening in your life, and always remembering that life is spiritual. There are things you can do with food, with breaking of bread, with being intentional and passing on essence, giving consent in prayer, partnering the right way, using sexual relations in marriage to manifest things as well as many other 'spiritual technologies' that will change situations you are not comfortable with. You need spiritual intelligence to chart this road, Child of God.
