My therapist told me, “Women who grew up in broken and dysfunctional homes don’t always have big dreams. They only dream of having a home no one can take away and a person who won’t abandon them.”
My favorite part about getting older is learning to recognize quickly when something isn't for me. I will not spend an extra minute with a person, or in an environment that doesn't bring me peace ✌🏽
Unfortunately, yes i sure DO give up on people.. you can't continuously disappoint me, distract me, not pour into me & expect me to continue showing up for you. No can do.
I am so grateful to have grown up with Lizzie McGuire, Hannah Montana, That's so Raven, High School Musical, Wizards of Waverley Place, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Zoey 101, H2O Just add water, Camp rock, the sleepover club......what do kids even have today
i find it extremely fcked up when you have to ask men “what if she was your sister, daughter or mother” in order to make them see women as valuable human beings
I don't know who needs to hear this, but start living. The days are flying by, and all you do is work, pay bills, and stress. Enjoy what you can… walks, sunsets, music, laughter. Joy doesn't have to be expensive. You deserve it.
your SPOUSE is the one who’ll sit beside you when your PARENTS DIE. who’ll hold your hand through CHILDBIRTH. who might have to BATHE YOU if you’re ever too sick to stand. this isn’t just about BUTTERFLIES or DATE NIGHTS. it’s about choosing someone who SHOWS UP... in GRIEF, in MESS, in UNCERTAINTY. so no, LOVE ALONE isn’t enough. COMMITMENT, MATURITY, and the ability to ENDURE life’s ugly parts... that’s what sustains a MARRIAGE. because when life gets PAINFULLY REAL, ROMANCE won’t carry you... CHARACTER will. and the truth is, FOREVER is only possible with someone who knows how to STAY when it’s HARD TO LOVE
