Chameleons do bite. Yes, they have teeth and will use them if cornered.
But here’s the thing: no venom, no toxins, nothing chemical to worry about. Their whole survival strategy is built on camouflage, slow stalking, and that dramatic gaping-mouth bluff before you even get close enough to grab one.
If one does bite you, it won’t hurt much. Most species are small enough that their bite barely breaks skin. Still, clean the wound. Any animal’s mouth carries bacteria, and infection is the real risk, not the bite itself.
