@nearyd@headius Junior devs don't know much, but learn fast. LLMs know very much, but they don't learn at all.
A brilliant genius with advanced Alzheimer's disease: Any knowledge gained is lost after a conversation and has to be restored via prompting or a couple of markdown files.
@vlad_mihalcea Try to explain the WebFlux-based Spring Cloud Gateway to your audience. Splitting up simple routing decisions and basic URL rewriting tasks into myriads of Monos is the very definition of madness.
@theskilledcoder Way better: Immutable LocalDateTime.
If you define immutability as "this thing provides no transitive reference to any mutable object", then this is still not immutable: Person.getClass().getClassLoader().defineClass(...) allows you to mutate whole JVM...
@JeffBohren Good point, but it depends on the kind of change. For example, changing a central relation from 1:N to N:M will always cause a flood of changes from the database up to the UI, and it gets worse if the system is live. Your general assumptions must be sound and solid.
@unclebobmartin "In the first decades of computer programming, there were no engineering principles."
Z3 was the first Turing-complete electro-mechanical computer of the world, designed 1938 by Konrad Zuse. Arguing that this was achived without "engineering principles" is simply ridiculous.
