Restoration challenges are worth it. @coffeeangel’s project proves Ireland’s hidden historic gems await their chance to shine. The overwhelming appreciation shows: preserving our architectural heritage pays off.

@enchamade@LeSarthe@jmkirl@coffeeangel Admittedly not quite the same as grinding fresh. But if you keep them sealed (and there's a bottle of two of wine consumed beforehand) I'd be surprised if there's any complaints 🫣
@enchamade@LeSarthe@jmkirl@coffeeangel Oh no @enchamade!!! I'm afraid we don't stock any electric grinders any more. Though you could try 3FE to see if they have any Wilfa Svart in stock? Worst case scenario you could bring your beans into any of our shops and I'll get the team to grind them for you...
@dubcivictrust@Lunarjim17@coffeeangel Sadly we don't own the building. But wholeheartedly agree the facade and windows above are long overdue some TLC. We're quietly hoping the LL will be inspired by our works on the ground floor... 🙏🏻
Much appreciated @deemurphy!!! Dublin has been exceedingly supportive of @coffeeangel over the years. We're just trying to do the right thing and where possible give a little back... 😇
All credit to founder @KarlPurdy who has run @coffeeangel with a conscience from the off, from this effort to maintain Dublin’s heritage to contributing a wedge of profits to ecological restoration & biodiversity projects across the country. Well worth giving them your business!
Here, here @RobCross247! Restoration wasn't part of our original plan. Simply had no idea what was hidden underneath the pretty rough shopfront we inherited. But we quickly realised that what was already there was far more beautiful and relevant than anything we could do... 😇
This is a great example of bringing life back into existing buildings and remember, the most sustainable building is one that already exists.
Well done @coffeeangel👏

What a lovely post to read at the end of 2024. @coffeeangel’s restoration on Mount Street Lower was a wild leap into the unknown. Though I’d like to think others would have taken a similar approach after uncovering such historic beauty. Thanks @dubcivictrust… 😇
There’s no doubt that Dublin’s restoration award of the year 2024 goes to @coffeeangel’s resurrection of the J. O’Grady & Co. shopfront at 1-2 Lower Mount Street just off Merrion Square, that languished for years under a heap of roller shutters, signage panels and beauty board 🧵
@dbarlon@coffeeangel We hope not!!! Sadly r electricians (thru human error 🤦🏻♂️) caused a catastrophic power surge. Thankfully no one was injured & power has been restored. But a lot of r equipment has been damaged/destroyed. Engineers are trying to get the basics working again. Shud know more 2nit 🙏🏻
Delighted to be speaking at 2day's @ESGSummit at Croke Park. I'll be sharing @coffeeangel's innovative partnership with @Bionua_ & Dunsany Estate, showcasing how 1 small biz's sustainability journey can help carbon reduction (80,000kg this yr) & biodiversity restoration 😱
☕️ @coffeeangel at the top table keeping ministers sharp as they tackle #budget2025 questions from @thecurrency
Maybe next time they'll brew up some good news for hospitality! Still immensely grateful for the support from those at Dáil Éireann! Cheers to perking up politics! 🇮🇪

@luisbruno @samtranum @coffeeangel Exactly. And the official address is recorded as 1/2 Mount Street Lower, Dublin 2.
Not ½ MSL 🤣 Which makes it sound like we have a Hogwarts address… 🧙♂️
We’re thrilled to announce that @coffeeangel MSL quietly opened this morning! Creating MSL has been one of our most satisfying and rewarding projects yet. Sincere thanks to those who visited us today. And we can't wait to welcome you all to experience our new space! ☕✨
Zero expectation of Irish gov't acknowledging SME challenges in today's budget. Not let down at all. My ambivalence remains. Still committed to our biz succeeding in spite of gov't. Not because of it. #SME#Budget2025#CoffeeShopLife
