Skoda and Volkswagen have tried to FOOL the world with a SHAM exit from Russia. Business resumes supporting #Genocide under a “new name” - with 2023/24 models now available for sale.

In March 2022, VW announced in March that production at its Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod sites would be suspended until further notice amid Western sanctions, and vehicle exports to Russia would be stopped with immediate effect.

In May 2022, a Skoda Board member said “We will stop producing cars in Russia by the end of the year. We don’t know what will happen next. We have to wait and see what happens next,” Michael Oeljeklaus, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, told iDNES in May. “We decide together. Such a big decision cannot be made by the Škoda Auto brand alone,” he commented on the decision on the future of production in Russia.

In July 2022 they announced that “output to end” at their Russian plant, GAZ's factory in Nizhny Novgorod - citing it was not getting enough parts to continue assembling cars for the German automaker.

In March 2023, Skoda has announced that it is close to completing a deal that will see all of its assets in Russia sold. Parent company #Volkswagen Group suspended exports of cars to Russia and all operations in #Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine in March 2022. That included pausing production of the Skoda Rapid model at its Kaluga plant and ending operations at the Gaz automotive plant in Nizhny Novgorod, which had produced the Octavia, Karoq and Kodiaq models under contract since 2011.

In June 2023, Moscow, June 21, 2023 – It announced: “Volkswagen Group Rus LLC announces a change of name to AGR LLC / AGR Automotive Group. After the renaming, the company will continue its activities in the Russian market, and will also carry out a full-scale rebranding. The name change was the first step in the transformation and restart of the business after the transfer of assets to a new owner. In May, the Volkswagen concern transferred all its shares in Volkswagen Group Rus LLC and its local subsidiaries to Art-Finance LLC.
