That concludes my live-tweeting for ‘2040’ and for the session. I really enjoyed the live-tweeting experience and the films showcased in #BCM325 . Good Luck with the rest of the semester everyone 🤗
One hectare of rice or potato cropland can feed between 19 and 22 people in one year, whereas for beef or lamb one hectare can feed only 1 or 2 people. (TheWorldCounts, 2020). Learn more in my blog https://t.co/zQub2q2Hlg #BCM325
This is a blog I posted on my DA about the facts in regards to the meat industry and its contribution to climate change. Please check it out, like it, share it and maybe comment on it :) https://t.co/zQub2q2Hlg #BCM325
I feel as if this film directly relates to my DA. I discuss how a meat based diet isn't the way of the future, and that's mostly due to the negative contribution to climate change from the meat farming industry. “It’s not the cow, it’s the how” https://t.co/aW9316xx61 #BCM325
It is interesting to see what children think the solution to climate change could be. It provides a fresh and untainted view on the idea. The world could use more of this right now... #BCM325
There is actually an entire website that supports the film. It has set up links where you can “activate your plan” and get involved with the “regeneration” of the world. https://t.co/tdnGxBJCuZ #BCM325
Today I’ll be viewing an Aussie documentary ‘2040’. Released in 2019, Damon Gameau travels the world in hopes to find a solution to climate change when concerns were raised about his daughters future. Last screening of the semester woohoo 🎉 #BCM325
Kind of concerning what violent video games are doing to today’s youth. For example my brother can name every type of gun and explosive in Fortnite and he is only 14. Then In #ReadyPlayerOne, we are seeing youth rebelling and using guns. Is this what the future holds? #BCM325
I guess there is no age restrictions in The Oasis. Kids can murder people in Virtual Reality, but I couldn’t buy a ticket to a MA15+ movie 7 years ago....Ok. #BCM325
@imogen_44 It also makes you question if there are any laws and who are enforcing them? Like do police exist in this world? What about lawyers? Is it ethical for a business man to bribe youth and murder their family members? #BCM325
@aliah_walton I was just thinking that!!! It's also interesting how in that episode the players were forced to question their sexuality. I wondering if this would be an issue for Wade if he came to learn that his love interest was another man. #BCM325
"If we listen to people like Mark Zuckerberg, who claims that virtual reality could eventually be made better than reality, then this might lead people to spend more time plugged into VR in their daily lives." <-- Well this is terrifying https://t.co/YmD7LQCu7M #BCM325
It's interesting to see that in the film humanity has completely destroyed Earth, yet their solution is to make a virtual escape accessible to everyone so they can ignore the poverty and pollution. Is this what the future holds? Distraction instead of solution? #BCM325
@maihdang@mylifeisajokexx I feel like there is also an extension of emotional repercussions in the real world. Players work hard to earn coins, weapons, cars, clothes etc... in the game. But when they die they lose all of their hard work and have to start again #BCM325
