சாலையில் எதேச்சையாய் எதிர்ப்படும் யாரோ ஒரு பெயரற்றவரின் புன்னகை அந்த ஒரு நாளையே நமக்கு அழகானதாய் மாற்றிவிடுமே... அப்படியொரு பாந்தம் ‘மெய்யழகன்' கார்த்திக்கு! ‘அத்தான்' என அறிமுகமான அடுத்த சில நொடிகளிலேயே, கல்யாண வீட்டின் பரபரப்பான வேலைகளுக்கு மத்தியிலும் நமக்காய் இரண்டு நிமிடங்கள் ஒதுக்கி, தலைதொட்டுக் குசலம் விசாரிக்கும் உறவுக்கார அண்ணனாய்ப் பரிணமித்தார். ‘ஏய், அத்தான் நிறைய காசு வச்சிருக்காருடியேய்' என மண்மணம் மணக்க உரிமையாய் வம்பிழுக்கையில் பரிச்சயமான மச்சானாய் மாறினார். நடுநிசியில் ராஜாவின் இசையோடு எசப்பாட்டு பாடுகையில் பள்ளிக் கால பால்ய நட்பின் குரல் மின்னி மறைந்தது. காளையைக் கொஞ்சுமிடத்தில் முரட்டு மாமன், அப்பாவைப் பற்றி நெகிழ்ந்து கண்ணீர்விடும்போது தமையன் என நம் நினைவுகளில் தேங்கியிருந்த உறவுகளை அவர் ஞாபகப்படுத்திக்கொண்டே இருக்க, உணர்ச்சிமயமானது தமிழகம். தாங்கள் தொலைத்த மனிதர்களுக்கு மெய்யழகனின் உருவம் கொடுத்து மானசீகமாய் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கவும் விடைகொடுக்கவும் செய்தார்கள் தமிழ் மக்கள். இப்படி, தான் சிரிக்கையில் சிரித்து, அழும்போது விசும்பி... தன் முக அசைவுகளில் மொத்த மாநிலத்தையும் கட்டுக்குள் வைத்திருந்த இந்த வந்தியத்தேவன் தமிழ்க் குடும்பங்களின் தலைமகன்.
