The visit was an opportunity to extend our warm congratulations and profound appreciation for his distinguished and selfless service to the Republic of Uganda.

Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Charles Otema Awany was accorded a warm reception in Gulu City today, following his formal retirement from the Uganda People's Defence Forces last week.

The @NRMOnline Secretary-General, Rt. Hon. @TodwongR, along with his elder brother, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Otema Charles Awany, has arrived at Tutu Odoko-Rwot Village in Wii Anaka, Purongo Sub-County, Nwoya District, to attend the burial of their cousin, the late Mwaka Patrick Awany—son of the late Mzee Nicholas Okuttu Awany.

The deceased, aged 48, tragically lost his life in a motor accident on 19th August 2026 at Muene Bridge, near Amwa, along the Kampala–Gulu Highway.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Today, I joined H.E. the President in welcoming international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn to State House Entebbe.

It was a special and deeply nostalgic meeting for me as I remembered her late mother, who visited our family many years ago. She prayed with us and gave each of our children their first Bible, together with one of her books. The memories of that visit remain very precious to our family.

, addressed consultants, tax experts and investors at Sheraton Hotel Kampala during an event organised by Grant Thornton, highlighting Uganda’s investment opportunities under NDP IV.

He said Uganda targets tenfold economic growth from US$69 billion to US$500 billion by 2040, driven by the ATMS (Agro-processing, Tourism, Mining, and Science Technology and Innovation.

highlighted opportunities in shea butter, honey, beeswax, avocado oil, cultural and lake tourism, data centres, Business Processing Operations (BPO) and call centers.

The Minister also cited Uganda’s improving infrastructure, security, digital connectivity, investor protection and export incentives, while calling for stronger private-sector participation in promoting Uganda globally.

COMESA presents significant opportunities for Uganda’s trade and economic growth.

Hon. Norbert Mao and Hon. Sanjay Tanna held discussions today on how Uganda can strategically position itself to gain maximum benefits from the regional market.

Hon. Mao committed his Ministry’s support to the Ministry of Trade, while Hon. Tanna noted that Uganda should draw lessons from its EAC experience as it expands and deepens its engagement with COMESA.

President @KagutaMuseveni and the First Lady, Maama @JanetMuseveni , today received international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe, where they reflected on Uganda’s transformation, faith, leadership and the longstanding spiritual ties between the Osborn family and Uganda.

Dr. Osborn is in Uganda at the invitation of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo ahead of her consecration as an Episcopal Bishop on August 23, 2026. The consecration ceremony will also coincide with the 20th anniversary celebrations of Covenant Nations Church.

During the meeting, Dr. Osborn described herself as a friend of Uganda and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to return to the country, where her family has maintained longstanding ties through Christian ministry.
