@tommymiles A French member of the EU parliament proposed and had passed a resolution condemning the government of Burkina Faso on the grounds of the risk that the terrorists that were funded by France (and may still be) may destabilize countries to the south, harming European interests.

Gabonese President Call on French Journalist and critics of the AES to leave the AES Confederation alone:
Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema called on critics of the AES to cease all forms of arrogance and finally support the confederation in its sovereign model of development and governance.
In Libreville, President Nguema tactfully rebuked a French journalist who accused the sovereignist leaders of the AES of rejecting elections to remain in power.
"It's you who are always talking about them. At some point, I think we need to leave them alone. Better yet, let's not talk about them, and they'll focus on what they need to do," President Nguema insisted.
According to him, a way must be found to ease the war-like situation imposed by terrorists in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, so that these countries can redirect their military spending toward development projects.
"Let's find models to support them in this process of de-escalation, without frustrating them, without being condescending. No. That doesn't work anymore," advised the Gabonese head of state.
In his opinion, the new leaders of the African Union have taken up the issue, and Africans are capable of finding solutions to African problems.
"What I'm saying is, we must let them do their thing. We must support them. They are sovereign states. What we can do is offer advice. But we cannot impose anything on a head of state, whether in transition or not: they remain the head of state of their country. So, don't impose anything on them," insisted the Gabonese President.

@elonmusk Elon Musk, fighting anti white racism in South Africa while decrying sensitivity to white racism in the west, now cosigning this post that indirectly apologizes for colonialism's disasterous effects...
@gandhimanzii@EmmanuelMacron In this case, why is Mr. Macron proudly reminding us all on social media? He seems determined to ruin the reputation of France throughout all of Africa after being kicked out of the Sahel.
@nanaba7969@cecild84 Traore doesn't have to trust him any more than Trump and Xi have to trust each other. They are still neighbors and so having some kind of relationship isn't a choice but the choice is what kind of relationship.
@Nath_Yamb@cecild84 The good captain doesn't need to have personal or even political things in common, but at least it's better to have cooperation than antagonism between neighbors. Surely Benin is alarmed by the growing terrorist problem which is already enough reason to cooperate it good faith.
Why are those who seem obsessed with so-called "authoritarian regimes" in the AES (Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger) not talking about Cameroon?
