Open Letter to Link Bus Services @officiallinkbus: A Call for Urgent Review of the Ticketing Process and Crowd Management.
Dear @officiallinkbus Management,
I write to you as a frequent traveller and a deeply dissatisfied customer, compelled to express concern over the inefficiencies and inconveniences caused by your current ticketing process.
While I appreciate the innovative idea you initially implementedโtickets reflecting passenger names and contact information, along with notifications sent to passengers upon ticket purchaseโit is disheartening to see that this standard has been abandoned. The omission of passenger details on tickets has created significant challenges, particularly during the festive season when demand is high and crowd management becomes a pressing issue.
The Problem: During peak travel times, the scramble for boarding becomes chaotic. Crowd managers demand tickets to be held in hand, but in the confusion of pushing and shoving, passengers lose their tickets. Tragically, those who lose their tickets are forced to pay again, even when conductors & inspectors could have witnessed the passengers boarding with tickets in hand. This lack of compromise or flexibility by your staff is unacceptable and causes financial distress.
I personally experienced this ordeal today, December 19th, while traveling to Nwera on bus UBG 496G to Bwera at 9:00 PM. I was forced to spend 120,000 UGX to secure my journey after losing my ticket in the chaos. This is not just an inconvenience; it is an outright financial burden.
Recommendations: To ensure a smoother and fairer experience for all passengers, I strongly urge @officiallinkbus to consider the following reforms:
- Reintroduce Passenger Details on Tickets: Include names and contact information on tickets, ensuring a clear record of ownership. This will help resolve disputes over ticket loss and allow staff to verify legitimate passengers.
- Implement Seat Numbers and Bus Assignments: Assign seat numbers and designate buses for each ticket. This will eliminate the chaotic boarding process and ensure that passengers board in the order of their ticket purchase(first come first serve).
- Improve Crowd Management: Train your crowd managers to handle large numbers of passengers professionally and compassionately. Prioritize orderliness over haste, especially during peak seasons.
- Flexibility for Lost Tickets: Empower conductors and inspectors to verify and assist passengers who lose tickets in boarding
While I understand that peak travel times can be overwhelming, this does not justify the substandard service and financial losses passengers are forced to endure. @officiallinkbus must uphold its reputation by addressing these issues promptly and ensuring that customer satisfaction is a priority.
I hope that my feedback, born from personal experience, will prompt action and reforms in your operations. As a customer, I trust that you will take these concerns positively, seriously and work to restore confidence in your services.
Yours sincerely
Festo Kato

Someone has asked me what I studied and what I can do ๐
I majored in Communications so basically I can be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote an organization's goals and objectives.
I can also do writing and editing content for internal and external communications, managing social media accounts, coordinating public relations efforts, and organizing events.
Further more I can also ensure that there is clear and consistent messaging to target audiences and overall stakeholders.
Finally I can make sure that the brand name is not at risk and act as bridge between the organization and the stakeholders to make sure the there is a positive image and brand loyalty.
With great pleasure, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to everyone who contributed to reaching this very significant milestone. #Mak74thGrad
