昨日ちょうど「ROADSIDERS’ weekly」でも紹介されているのを拝見しました。

香港を拠点に活動する写真家カスパー・フォレスト（Kasper Forest）の写真展『人間衝突――見えないものを記録する10年間』。

香港ファンにはお馴染みのVictoria 1842にて、入場無料で3月1日まで開催とのこと。

《CONFLICT HONG KONG》

日本では香港は多様な社会だと認識されていますが、実際の香港の生活は非常に忙しく、家庭で働く外国人家事労働者の存在以外に、日常ですれ違いながらも意識されることの少ない「もう一つの香港」に生きる人々がいます。私たちは彼ら／彼女らのことをどれほど知っているでしょうか。もし時間が少し立ち止まったなら、彼ら／彼女らを理解しようとするでしょうか。

香港出身の写真家Kasper Forestは、10年・3650日にわたり、黒白フィルムで、誰もが街で見かけながらも見過ごしてしまう少数民族や周縁コミュニティの姿と物語を記録してきました。撮影を通して都市の変遷を再認識し、社会に存在する偏見や分断を見つめ直すと同時に、他者を理解することが自分自身を理解することにもつながることを示しています。
