I have decided to drop out of the AI program at Amazon. I will not be making a Punky Duck series. Actions speak louder than words.
My intent was to showcase artists, both new and seasoned, both inside and outside the studios, driving this new tech.
My sincerest apology to those I upset. I promise to do better moving forward. Thank you for your patience with me. I will try harder.
‘The Good Advice Cupcake’ creator Loryn Brantz says she is “horrified and disgusted” after BuzzFeed allegedly gave her character to an AI platform without her involvement.
She also called for a boycott of BuzzFeed and AI-produced animation.
@ewarren We need legal protection from AI for the arts. Generative AI has stolen the life's work of countless artists throughout history, that should be blatantly illegal.
‘Amphibia’ creator Matt Braly speaks out against the use of AI in animation:
“If you need to partner with AI to get a greenlight on your project, it ain’t worth it.”
We are working hard on BURIED GIANT. We have a lot of experimentation ahead. But this entire community never gives up- never abandons its faith: Made by humans for humans. Whomever joins this adventure is doing the animation Gods' work.
If you need to partner with AI to get a greenlight on your project, it ain't worth it. I know it's super frustrating out there rn but nothing makes replacing your peers with automated garbo justified. Nothing. We gotta hold the line on this one or we're f*cked.
HERE WE GO - I am very proud to announce that an animation studio based in Thailand has acquired the rights to my movie. They are called "The MONK Studios", are based in Bangkok, and are passionately pursuing a way to make this discarded film a reality.
