Feeling very real now! So excited for this book to be available thinking about belonging on the church for any of us with disabilities/additional needs!
Let's make the church a more welcoming place for everyone! For #WorldAutismAcceptanceWeek , Woman Alive published this great article by #Roofbreaker Triona Brading:

Something I’ve been reflecting on as a late diagnosed autistic is that whilst I want to challenge preconceived ideas around autism, I don’t want to erase the experiences, challenges and barriers faced by those with higher support needs than my own.
(1)
And I am much more able to advocate for myself. I can also choose whether or not to disclose my autism.
Others do not have this option. Others face many more barriers than I do.
I want to use my experience to make the world more accessible for ALL autistic people (3)
For Disability Awareness Sunday 17 Sept watch and share this video about Supporting autistic individuals in our churches. Triona, an autistic Christian, gives practical advice: https://t.co/nCpmBg2Z9E

Just looked further into this and absolutely gutted. This is wrong on so May levels. The ethics of this trial is awful, and further to this the rhetoric surrounding autism is so negative: looking for a ‘cure’ as an #ActuallyAutistic adult I am deeply saddened.
