@NickBrownEdTech I'm going to do a media analysis, on articles discussing the removal of statues due to content. It ties into something I"m doing with work. #edt501#museumeducation
@voicethread @AU_Edtech That would be great! I will say I've found using voicethread to be a very pleasant experience, and I feel like I "know" my peers more in my online asynchronous class that incorporates voicethread than I do in another online class that doesn't use it.
I wish Voicethread for #edt501 had a way of alerting you when someone SPECIFICALLY replies to you, just like how we can tag people in twitter. I'm always checking, but I feel like sometimes a conversation that gets started will dissipate b/c replies get lost in the shuffle.
@voicethread @AU_Edtech Thanks, I usually do - just wish it was a LITTLE more specific. The general updates are when people comment on the same slide I also posted to, but not necessarily their response to my specific comment. I wish I could tag people so they know I'm directly responding to them.
@ernesto7777 So many platforms and content creators, eventually you may find something that resonates with you! I mostly follow artists and cultural institutions on instagram - and also accounts that critique cultural institutions. Very different than the youtubers we looked at....#edt501
@proftarantola This is great, and important for this week's #edt501 topic. So many students may not have control over what is happening in their home life, and it's not the "impression" or identity they may not want to present to their peers. Another way of being mindful of chosen contexts.
@catieringhoff @shethinx Do you know this nonprofit #supportthegirls, their instagram is: https://t.co/6N3Fmtf7Fe
I think you'd like their posts and find them useful for your explainer or infographic. #edt501
And yes, I was aware of the slant of the publication when sharing the link.... I'm starting to be hyper aware and analyze media which I guess is the point of #edt501!
Yet another example of why learning about disinformation and misinformation is important, and teaching how to discern it #edt501: https://t.co/R8GtNuQoDs
