To clarify, I'll absolutely do cosplay groups, projects, events, etc. that I have interest in and feel like I can properly invest in. But I'm extremely weary and a lot more choosy than I used to be, and a lot more quick to dip if things get fishy.

Apparently a cosplayer who I cut off several years ago took a cosplay group name that I came up with and is using it to schill for money on patron? I'm obviously no longer a part of this group so of course I'm not seeing any profits but Jfc

This is probably one of the more extreme examples, but shit like this is exactly why I not longer "help" others with big projects and/or events or allow others to "help" me (there are acceptions, but they are rare). It's getting harder to tell who's genuine and who's a leech.
