Interested in the arts, heritage and #Brutalist architecture?
We are looking for a Community, Culture & Heritage Project Manager to play a leading role in the development & delivery of the ambitious Hall for All project, funded thanks to initial support from the @HeritageFundUK.
@BeffernieBlack Oh! Oh! *warming to theme* And when they immediately take a big gulp of the allegedly hot tea/coffee they’ve just been handed with no reaction to the temperature…
@BeffernieBlack Hard agree! I have developed an involuntary tic of saying “empty cup” out loud every time it happens, which my wife very much doesn’t appreciate! But it just annoys me so much - it takes me right out of whatever I’m watching. When they pretend to swallow nothing it’s even worse.
@kingjinkerton @slimyswampghost Came here looking for this one! It always seemed to me that the Pixies song was written for this scene, so perfectly did it fit!
@tinaorkidea They felt they were “normal” so special word not needed. Now it’s hard to imagine anyone being offended by being called heterosexual. It’s just a non-emotive, objective descriptor. One day it will be the same for cis, but it’s painful living through society trying to catch up 2/2
@tinaorkidea It is a straightforward, scientific descriptor, and not offensive. Worth remembering that back when the language was evolving around homosexuality, some straight people were offended by being called heterosexual for much the same reason as those offended by being called cis. 1/2
@DavidJPoole @VeryBadLlama Hmmm I’m not sure we do know he used the green one - he said Brillo pad and the narrator of the story translated with the picture. I think there were wire strands everywhere!
@StandardIssueUK Over the past couple of weeks we’ve had reference to trans men and non-binary people, the importance of healthcare for them, and your views on inclusive language. Great! Next up: inclusion of trans women in your content, please? #ForAllWomen#TransWomenareWomen
@StandardIssueUK I’ve heard every episode & can’t recall a single trans guest, trans issue, or trans intersection of a more general issue discussed. Is this a deliberate policy? If so, why? If not, what will you do to rectify? Your slogan is #ForAllWomen. But #TransWomenAreWomen.
@standardissueuk I’ve just listened to the ep about testosterone. The author briefly mentions transgender people in her description of her book, but you do not, so the issue is not discussed at all. So I guess I have my answer that you have a deliberate policy of avoidance. Why?
@Rosie_Johnson So sorry to hear that. Ours went missing a couple of months ago. We walked round the neighbourhood door knocking asking people to check and he was found in one of their garages where he’d spent the night locked in. I hope it is something similar for you 🤞
