Thanks for your support and leadership Minister @VictorDominello, this is the beginning of the journey for a better NSW Government and better user experiences of the services we provide.
As the person responsible for leading digital transformation in NSW - this morning I launched the #NSW Digital Design System. The DDS is a living repository that houses a digital design standard, reusable components, and guidance on best practice for delivering digital services.
Digital101- Any emerging technology will become quickly legacy if you don’t have a user problem to solve with it. Any implementation of a technology must be based around user needs.
Adoption of new technology like automation and artificial intelligence in the public sector should always be driven first and foremost by citizens’ actual needs. https://t.co/TWz7qofaMD
The NSW Digital Design Standard includes “Create with Purpose”, and NSW is one of the first jurisdictions to call out that the vision and transformation are very important. @digital_nsw#designsystem
NSW solidly furthered its lead in digital gov today with the launch of its digital design system. Well done to the teams who developed it and to their colleagues in @DTA and other jurisdictions who worked with them to make this happen.
Bring on the Seals @VictorDominello!
We wanted to get people doing things. We wanted these services on the ground and working for people. So we built it. This is the beginning of the journey - @Katalyst888 on the #DesignSystem origin story

Along with the Premier @GladysB and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs @smitchellmlc, I was privileged to launch the #NSWGov's new #procurement policy aimed at supporting an average of 1000 #Aboriginal jobs a year over the next three years.
Key takeaway from dinner with Estonian CIO Sim Sikkut: inspired by what a country can achieve when citizens trust their government, and that a cultural thing. Culture is about people. So digital transformation cannot be led by tech.
