God is with you and your wife, Scott. He will never leave you... He promised that, and He is always faithful to His promises. You are never alone. I became the caretaker for my terminally ill husband in early April. Despite having heard of the strength and love it takes to be in the caretaker role, I had no idea whatsoever how hard it is. I began almost immediately to pray very hard for caretakers. Of course I had already known that prayer for the sick was at the top of the pyramid of my prayer life but now, for me, the caretaker is not far behind. Both situations are an excruciatingly painful thing to bear, each in their own way and often each at different times. But if we accept the love and peace our God offers, both roles become a lesser burden. I hope both of you are able to remain understanding and empathetic to the struggles of one another... And with God's help you can hold onto the gratitude each of you feel for what each of you are enduring and are able to express it frequently to one another. Your love is obvious. Her love is obvious. God has granted you a major gift with that mutual depth of feeling. Trust him to keep giving you gifts that you may not see for a while but they will be there.
