Happy Pride Month!
This month and every month, we stand with LGBTQ+ people across Scotland, celebrating pride, equality and the right to live openly and safely.
We are working hard to deliver on your priorities. In case you missed it, this week:
🏥 NHS long waits fell for 11th month in a row
🩺 Surpassed the target of 150,000 extra appointments
🏡 First Homes Fund to open by the end of June
🏴 Passed the vote on devolving energy powers
People across Scotland will be deeply worried by another rise in energy bills announced today.
We produce enormous amounts of energy, yet despite Labour’s promises to cut them, bills keep soaring.
It’s time Scotland had control of Scotland’s energy.
I'm focused on delivering for people in Scotland. This week, we will bring forward plans to cut the cost of living, expand childcare and help first-time buyers.
And tomorrow, Parliament can back Scotland's right to hold a referendum on the fresh start of independence. 🏴
It seems Section 30 debate & vote is ON next Tues 26th with only tiny chance parly authorities will reject. #TimeforScotland team will be there from 5 but core time with Saltires is 6-7.30pm to act as backdrop for correspondents’ live reports into teatime news. More soon.
📢 We’ve spent £1.2 BILLION over the last 14 years mitigating Westminster cuts.
❌ Broken Britain is holding Scotland back but with the full powers of an independent nation we can change Scotland’s course.
🤝 We will always fight for that future.
Honoured to have been asked by the First Minister to join his government team. There’s a lot of work ahead, and I’m ready to get started and deliver for the people we serve.
Busy day today: cleared out my leader’s office @Edinburgh_CC , voted for @JohnSwinney as First Minister, and welcomed @lmacinnessnp as the new Group Leader in CEC. Onwards to the next chapter.
I love this country and it is the privilege of my life to be elected as your First Minister at @ScotParl today.
I will give everything I have to deliver on your priorities, and to fulfil Scotland’s enormous potential. 🏴
The SNP group in Edinburgh council are so talented and have the leadership skills that will make a difference against the backdrop of an incompetent Labour administration. I’m excited to support the next leader as they take the group forward🙏

Over the election campaign, I said I would put the cost of living at the top of our agenda – and that is exactly how I will govern.
This week I will appoint the new SNP ministerial team so we can immediately get on with the job.
My Daily Record column today. 👇
First week in the Parliament. Busy with casework, getting sworn in (and making it clear my first allegiance is to the sovereign people of Scotland) and even managed to get my advert for office manager posted. If you’re interested take a look here - https://t.co/GAVvqSCPko

SNP has won 5 Holyrood elections in a row, Labour had their worst ever election & Tories fell to 4th.
Independence MSP's have been the majority since 2011.
If that's not a mandate what is?
Historic change is happening.
For the first time ever, there could be three nationalist, pro-Independence First Ministers across these islands.
The demand for independence is growing.
