Criminology lecturer, supports @JENGbA , @UCU rep Interests: Policing, prisons & faith definitions & typologies of serial murder. all views my own (she/they).
This is a dark, dark day for people around the globe. The world’s largest economy and most powerful military will be led by a dangerous, destructive demagogue.
UCU in great hands with @Maxine4UCUVP taking up the role of president. A truly amazing person that I couldn’t be prouder to know, work with and support.
Today we mark 4 years since we lost our colleagues, friends & former students Saskia Jones & Jack Merritt in the Fishmongers’ Hall tragedy. Please join me in remembering them - this is an image of the flowers & candles in the foyer of the Institute, in loving memory of them.
So is he suggesting it’s okay to ignore the law? Can we all ignore laws we don’t like??? Our so called ‘leaders’ showing complete and utter disregard and disrespect for the laws and people they are meant to uphold and respect. #ToriesOutNow#stophate
The deputy chairman of Britain's governing Conservative Party @LeeAndersonMP_ has called for the government to "ignore the law" and deport asylum seekers the same day they arrive.
My blind son was jailed for being at the scene of a murder. Halt this tide of #jointenterprise convictions especially after the release @CPSUK data that shows clear racism & the targeting of the young https://t.co/oivF8VbqvK
Fabulous start to the second day of the #BSC2023. Thought provoking key note from Wilson. Followed by a great panel on #VAWG in the night time economy.

Less than 1% refugees come to the UK. The things that bring them to the UK - family, community, language, take them to other countries also. She really doesn’t understand refugees’ behaviour; it’s no surprise her policies fail. https://t.co/rJAfSC0dk9
‘12 yr old thug arrested for drug running’ reads the headline. But if we really want to get ‘tough on the causes of crime’ why doesn’t it read ‘vulnerable & exploited 12 yr old child rescued from gang’? Why does our culture so often choose to promote condemnation over compassion?
@JENGbA took legal action against @CPSUK & today we can announce that they have agreed to monitor data on #jointenterprise prosecutions. This is a huge victory for a grassroots campaign. Thank you @libertyhq for all your hard work. https://t.co/nyvmaTdF9l
If you don't want refugees living in hotels, tell our govt to process their claims so they can work. If you love our country treat those less fortunate with dignity and respect. It’s not hard.
"Nobody has ever committed a crime after being executed" says Lee Anderson. The fact that quite a few people hadn't committed a crime before they were executed either is not his concern.
How have I only just discovered @missmayim’s breakdown podcast?? Can’t recommend this to enough. Fantastic scientific breakdown of mental health #TimeToTalk
