@mnhopper1s There is a big disconnect in our profession where the setting in which you work is reflective of your competence. Working professional sports or D1 football does NOT reflect your competence. How you work and in the way you care for your work and patients, does.
Me: "I work in Sports Medicine."
General Public: "Oh, wow, that's awesome! "You must be so smart." "Your job is so important to keep athletes healthy."
Me: "I'm an Athletic Trainer."
General Public: "Oh, you're a trainer. So, you help people work out?"

Reflecting on high schools who have decided to furlough or terminate Athletic Trainers but intend to continue athletics programs. My comment to HS administrators would be this: “If you can’t afford to manage the risk, you can’t afford to take the risk.” #AT4All#SafeSports
