@itjohnstone@AmyRemeikis Grew up in WA and live in Vic and am totally befuddled by the whole thread. Can someone please enlighten?
Also - have kids AND am a teacher myself!
@roxyred808 I don’t understand why she has been offered a professional teaching job at an hourly rate? We are salaried here in Australia and paid for 12 months of the year. And, of course, we have universal health care already! She needs to move!
@CrStuartJames @Neroli_Meadows I’m a school teacher in Vic. I literally don’t have more than 14 days before December to visit my Mum and family. Even then I couldn’t come for Christmas because school doesn’t finish on Dec 10th. And don’t you dare assume “It won’t be 14 days by December…” 🙄
@Neroli_Meadows What if you are triple-vaxxed (like pretty much all of us, who have done everything possible to get back to see our families) AND have had Covid? Why not then?
There’s no way he will open up in winter (although he may as well nominate April 1). Then there will be a new variant.
@Neroli_Meadows Ex-pat here living in Vic who last saw my Mum (now 88) in Dec 2019. I share your devastation. I’m bewildered by those conditions! Even if you meet the very narrow criteria for a G2G - you have to be triple-vaxxed AND do 14 days AND 4 x PCR tests??? Who came up with those ideas??
