Today in field skills training: @Zoe_Melvin doing a demonstration of how to get the most out of your GPS unit functionality and how to get the waypoints downloaded and organized while in the field.
Kate Hampson is studying the mitis/Sykes monkeys and how they sometimes associate with the colobus. Sometimes her search for these monkeys takes her deep in the forest, sometimes to the agricultural fields surround it. Today she’s with the group that ranges in and around camp.
Kate Hampson @BangorBioZoo is still following the Camp Group of the Sykes / mitis monkeys. They’re now in the agricultural areas behind our house and are hiding in the thick vegetation rather well.
Yesterday we went for a walk through Jozani forest to see the huge range of habitats the national park has to offer. We may have gotten a little wet but we still had fun!

Today is also the last day here for Kate Hampson. Together with her field assistant Mwinyi Abdalla she spent the last 2 mo following groups of Sykes monkeys in the forest and shambas to understand when and why they interact. Thanks to the Bangor Fund @BangorUni for the support!
